Annotation Eagle Child is a young Piegan Indian boy who lives on the Montana plains in the 1800's in this western adventure. When he finds an orphaned white buffalo calf, he brings it back to his tribe to raise. He has many adventures before he is able to return the calf to a bison herd, including helping to save his older brother Tailfeather, kidnapped by the Crow tribe. Through his relationship with the calf, he learns the responsibilities of being a warrior. For junior and senior high readers.
